On April 7, 2015 the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has reached the congressionally mandated H-1B cap for fiscal year (FY) 2016 in both the general category and the U.S. master’s degree category. The cap in the general category is 65,000 and 20,000 in the U.S. master’s degree category.
